My husband hunts deer and I want to get him a dehydrator for making jerky. Looking for something in the $40-$80 range. Any ideas of good models/brands? What should I look for?

Look for one with several racks, and try to get one that doesn’t take forever to cook the stuff. The one I have is several years old and it takes a good 10-12 hours to make jerky.
Check out “pro bass store”. Or something like that. They specialized in fishing, hunting, ETC. I’ve seen great dehydrators there specifically for men.
Look for one that has temperature settings and can handle the capacity you are looking for. The cheaper dehydrators just have “on” and “off”. Look at the trays and parts to be sure they will be easy to keep clean. I use my dehydrators for a lot of things. If you have a garden, it’s a great way to deal with extra stuff that you can’t use when it’s fresh.
