Note that this will fit your blender if it begins with either “KSB3″ or “KSB5″. Most blender models will be something like “KSB3WH” or “KSB5OB1″ where the last 2-3 letters only determine the color of the blender, which is not important for determining fit of this part.

Every 3-5 years, I find myself getting another one of these. It’s cheap and it works well, but it can shred to pieces with little to no warning. 3 times now, I’ve found myself with a half-blended pitcher of goo. The first time I had a houseful of guests awaiting blended margaritas. The last time, I had two expectant 3 year-olds to whom I had promised smoothies. It’s never convenient. Either keep a few of these couplings in reserve (along with the special wrench required to change it out), or spend the money and get yourself a self-respecting blender like the Blendtec.

Item was shipped USPS to somewhere in California. . . Unfortunately, I live in Texas. I’ve contacted the seller via email but have yet to receive a response. I’m sure it would have worked just fine. . . if I was able to install the part.
This review format will not allow you to input “0″ stars, I’m giving it 1 Star for that fact that the item was never recieved and I’ve had “zero” contact with the seller.

This was fine it works great. The tough part was removing the old one. Apparently the part is made from softer metal then the post and threads on the post they are attached to. So basically you pry off and destroy the old coupler without worrying about the threads on the post of the blender. It was a little messy but the threads on blender post weren’t hurt. Also counter-intuitive was screwing the new part on the threads of the post. There was no way to stop the post from spinning so you just screw it on lightly. Apparently it tightens up during use because the direction of travel of coupler screws it on tight.

This piece is really not that difficult to install and is worth every second of minor frustration to have your blender back up and running! For less than $10 and less than 5 minutes we had our powerful blender working again. Thank you so much for offering these parts so I didn’t have to go out and purchase another blender. For anyone considering this piece, definitely give it a try before ditching your old blender as you’ll be so glad you did!
